Hi Everyone
I have a 1998 International with a 430 detroit. The batteries grounded out and shut the truck down. We replaced the batteries but the truck will not stay running. We can get it to turnover with ether, but it will not stay running. Is there a fuse panel in this year/ make/model other than the circuits in the glove box. Another note while the truck is running with ether, no rpm gage, you can also shut the key off and the truck will stay running. Please help mesad

More then likely when the batteries shorted out it surged the ECM. And if you are running it on ether it will stay running even when you shut the key off because it is not using the injectors it is just opening the valves and sucking in the ether then compression does the rest. My suggestion is to find a code reader and see if there is any communication with the ECM. If so just look it up and down for a burnt wire and maybe an inline fuse.

Have seen fuses in the batt box area for ECM, if batteries shorted, it may have blown fuse in pigtail in batt box. My experience. If no tach, there is no power to ECM.
