Hey I got a new 3116 installed its a 200 hp that runs exc but seems severely underpowered my old motor was 250 hp would the extra 50hp make such a huge difference ??? I mean with old engine with severe blowby and leaking antifreeze in engine still had more get up and go than perfect running 200 hp ???????

50 hp on 200 is 1/4 more . I would say the torque curve would be more revealing . You will have to get used to reving the motor perhaps 1/3 higher to get somewhere near where you started and when the old one runs at 2000 revs the blow by is a nusiance but does not affect the performance much I would think only the starting

You can use an inches of water gauge, take dip stick out and put a hose on the tube, put hose clamp on it to make it tight. have the pressure gauge on the other end. read the reading at high idle , low idle and full load. readings should .not be over three psi. 0 to 1.5 new engine. get to 4 and above start having seal damage on crankshaft and valves stems.
