replaced injector pump 3 times in two years on my 6.5L turbo , and it is going out again . got tired of messing with it took it to a shop , and they said it is a malfunction in the injector pump again, and they said it was the new low sulffer fuel that was burning the injector pump up . so when i drive it now i can drive for about a day or so, then it will shut off and sometimes it will start right back and some times it wont start for a couple of days . i also noticed two days ago it started and in ran with a bad miss for about five min. and the it cleared up , but it always has a slight miss . i checked compression #1 is the only one at p.s.i all the rest of the cylinders vary between 375~385 . when it does run it has good power and will pull anything i need it to, but i never knowwhen it will die . most of the time it will die going down the interstate . and i checked all injectors and replaced a couple of them still no diffrent .

An Injection Pump is the device that pumps fuel into the cylinders of a diesel engine. Traditionally, the pump is driven indirectly from thecrankshaft by gears, chains or a toothed belt (often the timing belt) that also drives the camshaft. It rotates at half crankshaft speed in a conventional four-stroke engine. Its timing is such that the fuel is injected only very slightly before top dead centre of that cylinder's compression stroke
