Diesel Talk
Hi guys, new guy here,
I'm not sure where to put this, so I hope people can forgive me if I'm doing something wrong. I'm about to put a power plant in a Circular sawmill, I've got an olds 5.7 diesel and Nissan sd25 engine on hand, so I'll be using one of the two. The Nissan engine is just barely powerful enough, and will really have to work in a few large hardwood logs. The olds has got more power & torque but.., well, It's an olds diesel, engough said. I'm wondering which people think would be better, the underpowered Nissan or the problem-prone olds. Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Is the Nissan a 4 cyl? If so I would use the olds. If it's a six, I would use the Nissan. Remember, a diesel engine likes to be worked hard, and maybe you could tweak the pump to get a whisker more fuel.

'We had a Mercedes engine in stock for over a year but were unable to sell it in Belgium - it was an unusual specification for generator use. Once we listed it on DieselEngineTrader.com, we sold it to a customer in England! We get regular enquiries from customers across the world.'
