I have a 2002 9400i International with a C-15 engine. About 1 year ago, the radiator had to be replaced while I was out on the road. The only antifreeze they had on hand was the GREEN. I recently changed antifreeze from GREEN to RED. Now the cooling fan comes on all the time at 190 degrees with or without the A/C running. Before the change of antifreeze the fan would only come on with the A/C off at about 210 degrees. With the A/C running, of course, it would cycle on and off like it is supposed to do. It seems like the fan comes on, even though it should not be coming on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks................Scubasteve NOTE: The fan comes on even though the truck is not running hot.

With a service tool it is easy to just look and see what is turning on the fan. With out not so much. I would first check the wiring and switches for the A/C Should be located on the high pressure line from the compresser to the condenser mounted in front of the radiator. many times the wires, connections or switch are damaged when the radiator is serviced. After that it becomes more difficult. No check engine light indiacates the coolant temp sensor is giving a reading in range that is acceptable to the Ecm, may not be accurate but you will need a service tool. I have also seen the fan air solinoid connection become damaged or disconnected this will cause the fan to stay on as well. Check all connections there closely.
