Hello, I'm working on a c-10 engine in an mci coach. Driver brought it to me a few weeks ago complaining about smoking issues and no power. Took off the valve covers and found cam followers on exhaust #1 & #2 chewed up, which chewed up the cam as well. Replaced worn rollers, cam, new o-rings on injectors. Bus runs good at idle but climbing a hill it drops 15km/hr and only has 23lbs boost. Turbo is good, it has a new air to air cooler everything is sealed tight on the intake side. It produces 40psi fuel pressure at idle and up to 70psi at full load. No leaks on any fuel lines either, with new fuel filters. I did notice that while climbing a hill, the injectors are only opening up to 11.23mm & they should be around 14mm? I tried a different ECM but that never made a difference. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

40 psi at idle sounds low, fuel system should always maintain 70 or better. This issuie alone should not cause low power if it indeed is holding 70 under load. Hook up ET and put under load. View Rated fuel position, Afrc position and desired fuel position. If you do not have an air problem AFRC fuel position will move up to or above rated, which means the Ecm is giving the engine max fuel, so it should make power provided it is not starving for fuel and everything else is functioning. If it is below you are not making enough boost. The ecm will not fuel up the injectors if it does not see the correct boost, this prevents black smoke. I have seen sensors plugged in incorrectly as the will fit cuase this sort of problem also. Go around and unplug them 1 at a time look for the code and verify that is the correct sensor. I have never seen a Ecm cause low power. I am leaning towards something u did or a symptom u r missing.
