92 ford l9000 truck sat for a number of years before i bought it. Fired up just fine after years. Drove it home and changed the fuel filters. No more start. Put a different set of filters on just to double check wasn't the filter, no luck. It made the engine light come on that wasn't on for the drive home. I discovered a fuel line was bad and replaced it. No change. New fuel cat fuel pump. No change. I can fill the filters and prime it up. Will not start unless i use either and runs shortly then dies. Check filters and empty! Put pressure gauge on and then hand primed it, gets up to 40psi then falls to 0psi quickly. Put new plunger in the return manifold from cat. No luck.

Sounds like you may have either a problem in the draw line or a restriction.....crap in the tank. You have several check valves that cause problems. I would try drawing fuel from a clean container close to the primary filter.

That was my next plan of action. I replaced the supply line from the tank. I discovered it would flow fuel one way but not the other. It was collapsed internally. For awhile i could start it on either and shut down and it would restart on its own power. After 10 mins the prime was gone. Now will not start on either.

What about fuel coming out of the return fuel as i hand prime it? Weird because the filters remain empty but fuel is coming out of the return. I purchased the new plunger and spring from Cat $28, cheap insurance, but does the same thing.
What about the check engine light coming on? Any thoughts
