Diesel Talk
Hello,
I just purchased a Hyster forklift with a 4 cyl. Perkins diesel in it.
With the tranny in neutral when I open the throttle the engine acts sluggish and gradually gains rmp's, when I return the throttle to idle the rpms drop and the engine almost dies. Sometimes it dies completely after running the engine at full rpm's and then returning the throttle to idle. When I start the engine with the throttle set at idle the engine starts fine but after it starts the rpms are above idle rpm's and then it gradually comes back down to idle rpms.
I have checked for water and air in the fuel, change the fuel filter and bled the fuel system but the problem is still there. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks

'Listed a Perkins T6.354 on DieselEngineTrader and sold it after 5 month. With a listing fee of $5.00 per month and no commission, it was much cheaper and more effective than the magazine we also used.'
