I have a 2000 peterbilt 379. When I push in the parking brake button to release the tractor brakes I get air coming out of the air relay valve back in between the frame rails under the fifthwheel. I replaced this valve and thought the problem was taken care of but it will still leaks air out of the relay valve. any ideas on what else could be wrong? All brake pots are new. Paul

The air control is best for a two-man operation or when using it on a short duct run for cleaning. The valve itself is able to bleed the air inside automatically, followed with the required fluids. Once the air has been bleed, the pressure inside would be changed more or less.

Well, when the driver depresses the braking pedal, a bit of air briefly opens up the relay valve's supply port, which then redirects air from the remote air supply directly to the back service brake chambers & quickly applies the back service service brakes.

Air braking system are much more efficient than hydraulic braking system. First of all, most contemporary air braking system work on a concept known as the triple valve system, that is designed in a way opposite to hydraulic braking system or even formerly used kinds of air brakes.
