After starting engenine and have it running for 10 minutes I got the engine from 1000 to 2200 rpm.
I heard a little bang like a small explosion in the engine room.
The machine was still running with a "klack-klack-klack" sound I think it comes somewhere from the cylinder block 8 cylinder.

What can that be ?
Valves ? Cylinder ?

Should I dismount the cylinder head to locate the problem ?

Thanks for your response

If your engine has a lot of hours on it you could have broken a piston skirt or wrist pin loose. If that is the case you can remove the head to verify. These usually were caused by excessive carbon build up. I even had one guy bring me one pickup that he got the bright idea to dump tranny fluid down the intake. Hey, it works for carbs, right? It didn't work out too well for him. $3000 later and a new block and heads, he was back in business. I have overhauled several because of this, but I don't remember any on #8. IT will definitely make the sound you mentioned and still run incredibly. I have also had injectors stick open and knock lick someone was hitting the oilpan with a ball peen hammer. If this happens it will smoke pure black out of that bank. foz
