Diesel Talk
I was wondering if someone could tell me why the D398 series engines were limited to 1200 rpm and not 1800 rpm like many other engines of similar size. I was thinking the long 8 inch stroke had something to do with it but many other engines with longer than 8 inch strokes reach 1800 rpm. I'm new the the forum and this has been a curiosity for a while.

'We had a Mercedes engine in stock for over a year but were unable to sell it in Belgium - it was an unusual specification for generator use. Once we listed it on DieselEngineTrader.com, we sold it to a customer in England! We get regular enquiries from customers across the world.'

Rob Verhoeven, Hamofa Engines, Belgium

'Was looking for a Gardner 4LK to rebuild. None of my usual contacts could help me so I searched the Internet and found one on DieselEngineTrader. It was only 27 miles down the road!'
