I just picked up 6 rebuilt injectors for my in line 671N. I have had three stuck injectors over the past month or so. Can I do this myself? Replacing the injectors, resetting the rack. Anybody with experience want to share the common things to be sure of when doing this?

I plan on getting a injector timing gauge. I guess I am not sure how to use it, but figure it cannot be too difficult. If I could find a good reliable mechanic to come out in the field and do the repair and tune up for me, I would. I am in Orland, CA. North of Sacramento about 1.5 hrs.

I dont know why the injectors have been sticking in full fuel position, but they have. That is what has prompted me to change all six. I am going to start running Stadyne fuel conditioner.

Also, I have started having hard start problems over the past month too. I hear there is a check valve on the fuel return system. I cannot find anything about that in the manual. Anybody know what or where that is located.

in the case of the sticking injectors and the fuel "checkvalve" there is no check valve its a restrictor fitting that that is in the fuel return side if the head to boost fuel pressure. the fitting has an .80 thousands hole in it, look at the fitting and see if it the right one, should b stamped on fitting, or if its clogged. your injector sticking can b caused by afew things, misadjusted rack, rack binding, etc.... make sure u have good quality fuel and that ur injectors arnt gumming up cuz of bad fuel. if u have n e nemore ? jus ask.
