After having my oil cooler replaced about 12k miles ago I am still getting some small amounts of oil near the radiator cap. I have flushed it out three times. Is it possible for oil to get trapped in the surge tank ? Is there a way to get the oil out and be sure there are not any other issues ? This thing really has me pulling my hair out !!!

I think I remember reading that Detroit make 3 different coolant cleaners. A Detroit Diesel shop that replaced my air compressor used a dirty collection pan for my coolant and returned it to my motor. Oh I was hot. I have a clear plastic overflow tank and I could see the motor oil in it. Yes it was very hard to flush out.

Hopefully they fixed your oil leak!

'Had a Mack 7427 in my shop for 2 years and couldn't sell it! Within a month of advertising on DieselEngineTrader.com I sold the engine to a guy in Oklahoma - was glad to get rid of it!'

Stan iles, Aqua Fria Aggregates, Arizona, USA

'The engine was on other sites, but we received the most calls from DieselEngineTrader.com. We sold it to the first caller-from DieselEngineTrader.com. Also, there was a waiting list on the engine if the first sale fell through! Thanks for the great service!'

Fran Trapp, South Carolina, USA

'Listed a Perkins T6.354 on DieselEngineTrader and sold it after 5 month. With a listing fee of $5.00 per month and no commission, it was much cheaper and more effective than the magazine we also used.'

Chris Weeks, Old Forge Lake Cruises, New York, USA
