Has anyone ever, or does anyone know if it's possible to take a 12.7 and rebuild it as a pre egr 14L? I have a both and the 12.7 is getting a rebuild soon and i'd much rather have two 14L engines. Is it simply a matter of ordering the pistons, liners, crank etc for my 14L and using them in the 12.7 or are the blocks too different?

Is it just that the outside diameter of the liners it bigger on the 14L and won't fit? I was at one of the truck racing events in Quebec, Canada this summer and one of the racers told me he had a 12.7L with a 14L crank giving him approximately 13.4L of displacement. I asked him why he didn't do a full 14L conversion and he just said he like the compression ratio he had but didn't say whether or not it was possible. This is what got me wondering if I could do it
