Truck can be running then just quits. No check engine light and no blown fuses. All Intrument panel gages drop to no power position, ignition system relays clicks when you try to restart as if batteries are dead and the interior lights flash as if they are the flashers. If I don't remove fuse #22 from the battery fuse block when it does this it will drain the batteries. After some time (sometimes days) I can replace fuse and it will run. I have had the GEM module reflashed & the Ford dealer said it was a faulty underdash fuse block. After much searching i found a used replacement (Dealer wanted $350.00) and installed it and it changed nothing. Sometimes the truck may run fine for days then when you go to start it, it does this. Can anybody please help?

i have a 2002 e350 with the 73 turbo deisel and just had the same problem, after paying the dealer over 1000 dollars i took it to a back yard mecanic and he said he sees it all the time all it is the crank position sensor its about 40 dollars and i had the van 400 miles today with no problem

Thanks for your response, It Just so happens that my truck was recalled for Cam position sensor replacement when I had the dealer check it for this problem & was told it was the fuse block, which it was not. After further researching the threads on this forum I found one with a similar problem and it turned out to be a dead altinator, so I checked mine & behold that was the problem. I also have a bad battery because when I drive the truck for extended periods with the lights on, in the morning the same thing occurs (lights flashing, wont start).

I would like to note that I have been trying to resolve problems with another car at the same time. I fixed both vehicles with info found on forums. In both cases I paid professional mechanics to fix the problems & all I got was raped without a kiss. The car was a Hyundai Sonata, the engine would lose power & the trans would drop out of gear. I took the car to a trans shop & he was sure trans was shot & for $2500 he would replace it. With my money in hand at the last minute I decided to get the engine checked out first. After one week and $250 I got my car back with no change. I purchased an online service manuel the went to the dealer (100 miles away) to get suspected sensors. $204 fixed my trans but I still had a power loss problem. I ended up spending another $450 on parts, some new & some used before I resolved the problem. I have many spare parts (ECM, Idle speed sensor, Fuel pump, CPS). Bottom line I know that was cheaper than I would have been charged by a mechanic or dealer & I would have NO spare parts. FORUMS ARE AWSOME!
