Hi i have a 1987 chavy 6.2 diesel silverado pickup. I have a problem with the glow plugs sometimes they work and sometimes they dont i am thinking it may be a short somewere in the system but i am also thinking it may be a bad relay. Sometimes plugs work then after i drive the truck plugs sometimes they wont come on the next time i go to start it. Sometimes if i crank the engine they will come on. Other times they wont. last time this happened i shook the wires and nothing worked until i hit the glow plug relay with the butt of my mag lite. Any suggestions what this could be??

Thanks,
Steve

>From reading diesel page my impression is auto. glow sys. was problem
co$ting glow plugs.
I would put in manual switch. My '83 already had manual switch when I
bought it. I hold for 6-7 seconds twice or thrice and start it.

'We've been selling on DieselEngineTrader.com since June 2011. It works well for us, we get a good level of inquiries and we've sold engines all over the world!'

'Had a Mack 7427 in my shop for 2 years and couldn't sell it! Within a month of advertising on DieselEngineTrader.com I sold the engine to a guy in Oklahoma - was glad to get rid of it!'

Stan iles, Aqua Fria Aggregates, Arizona, USA

'The engine was on other sites, but we received the most calls from DieselEngineTrader.com. We sold it to the first caller-from DieselEngineTrader.com. Also, there was a waiting list on the engine if the first sale fell through! Thanks for the great service!'
