I have just put the bottom back on a motor in a tractor that was siezed up in the number 4 cylinder due to water ingress via the exhaust pipe. I took the cap off and tapped it free with diesel on top of the piston as a lubricant . It freed up reasonably well and I put it all back . To get the oil up quickly I filled the filter beforehand ,replaced and filled the sump and turned it over with the injectors out ,probably 20 to 30 revolutions .
While I was doing that the fuel tank was disconnected and some diesel was noticed being expressed from the number 4 overflow at the top of the injector. So I want to see diesel coming out the distribution pipes before I secure the injectors and pipes .

So I've bled the diesel filters and pump and i am turning it over with the gas able to escape from the cylinders to ease things for the starter . After probably 40 cranks I still have no diesel being distributed to the injector lines and wonder if something could be stuck in the pump . I have the shutdown lever pushed home and the accelerator lever in various positions. I still can't get fuel out of the lines.

Can anyone suggest anything that I can try to establish what the problem is ? I have removed the cover plate on the timing end to ensure the pump is turning. The motor is turning well . There are no bubbles anywhere in the infeed lines and filters . The motor used to start and run very well 12 months prior to this

I normally don't post twice but get the feeling posting in a particular model section may not get the exposure I need.

Turns out a tap on the pump with a heavy spanner unstuck it and away it went. Just left too long without starting
