Hello people , I'm trying to figure how hard and expensive will be to replace the motor on my 1994 Freightliner FLD 120 .I have a 95 Detroit 60 series right now that runs really good , but because of California regulations I need to replace the motor with a 2010 or newer , so I'm shooting for the newest one I can drop into this truck . Anybody done this ? Has to be at least 2010 technology , I'm looking at a DD13 or DD15 I don't think there is a 60 series made after 2010 , no ? If anybody has a clue what application will fit better and also any input into wiring or transmission , will be useful.
Thx

All that's required is a DPF. Why don't you look at putting a DPF on your series 60?

It will cost around 15.000, cant do it yourself has to be done by one of their approved shops and its only good for so long, depending on the year of the motor you have in your truck .I will rather go for a motor than the filter because They expect every truck after 2023 to have a 2010 motor or newer; anyway because of the year of my truck the only option I have is to replace the motor with a 2010 They will not let me put a filter .I'm thinking may be just replace it with a 2007 or 8 but that will only work till 2023 also I'm not sure if I have that option I have to call and find out . there is the link if somebody needs it

'My listing on www.DieselEngineTrader.com has already lead to over US$45,000 of business.'

Eric Cohen International Diesel Ltd

'The engine was on other sites, but we received the most calls from DieselEngineTrader.com. We sold it to the first caller-from DieselEngineTrader.com. Also, there was a waiting list on the engine if the first sale fell through! Thanks for the great service!'

Fran Trapp, South Carolina, USA

'Thanks, I appreciate your site very much. I just sold another engine here this week. I am glad to know there are people working to improve the site whenever possible. I am very happy to be of some service in that regard.'
