I have a 1959 Plymouth taxi with a Perkins P4 in it. It was a Plymouth test car I think. Nevertheless, we are going to try to crank it. It is very original and unmolested. It's possibly not been cranked since 1976 or so. We're going to change the oil, pull the valve cover to lubricate the cam, possibly pull the injectors to put some oil to the cylinders. We will use starting fluid to prime the engine. It had an ether start system. There's not much info out there on these cars. I know a lot about cars. I have several diesel VWs and a Cummins Dodge. There is not much info out there on Perkins P4s. I cant' find a manual online. I've had the car over a year and I am ready to start delving into it. Is there anyone that might be able to help?
It's very different than what I'm accustomed to.

1) are parts available?
2) any gurus on the vintage Perkins?
3) manuals?

Brian

Any help would be appreciated.

'It took at least 4 weeks before we got our first inquiries for the 28 engines we listed - 3 months on we are making 3 to 4 sales per month! We're really pleased and I like the feature that shows how many views our engines get.'
