I can help you figure out what engine your 1980 Lincoln Electric SAE400 welder has. The engine used in this welder is a Continental F-163 engine. This engine is a four-cylinder, gasoline-powered engine that was commonly used in industrial and agricultural applications during the 1970s and 1980s.

You should be able to find the engine identification number (EIN) on the engine block, which can be used to confirm the specific model and year of the engine. The EIN is typically located on a machined pad on the side of the engine block, near the starter motor or distributor.

If you have any trouble locating the EIN or identifying the engine, you may want to consult the welder's owner's manual or contact a Lincoln Electric dealer or repair center for assistance.
