Powertech 8.1L Injector pump

I have a 8.1L powertech with injector pump problems. The pump is a Denso RE62837.
I took the side plate off the pump and the two front injector pistons are not moving. I took the bottom plugs below them and the cam lobes seems to be OK.
I think the pistons are seized in place. I'd like to remove the pump, take it apart and see if I can free them up. What problems do I face getting it all back together, or is it even possible without removal of the engine and the front covers.
What would likely be the cause of this problem?
Can I get parts for the pump?
Can I get a replacement pump, refurbished or second hand?
Next I am going to pull the injectors and do a compression test to see if the cylinders are OK.
