I have a problem that has me really scratching my head. disgusted
2007 trailer with a wabco abs valve, 4 wheel sensors. two air tanks.
Here is my problem. The driver hit the brakes really hard to avoid an accident. He said it took almost twenty minutes for the brakes to release so that he could bring it into the shop.
Ran abs scan and no codes. First thought was quick release valve gone bad. Changed it out with no result. Hit the brakes in the truck and the trailer locks up. Long release period. Up to 10 minutes. Changed ABS valve. No Change. Changed all four brake chambers. No Change. Took trailer off truck and used shop air to run system. No Change.
Changed both protection valves. Still no change. Air tanks are clean with no condensation. Slack adjusters and S cams are all free and working. All bushings good.
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing the problem?

have you hooked it to another truck to make sure it is actually in the trailer?

hello there, it sounds like the treadle vavle or foot vavle is sticking on when mashing down hard. dirt gets into the piston under foot pedal and it sticks down just enough to keep brakes applied. when it happens again pull off the blue air hose at the trailer and see if air is passing through. make sur your wheels are blocked so it dont roll away.

well i guess i should of read your problem more thoroghly . you used shop air. so that would eliminate truck. dose it do it all the time now. after the panic stop. on any application.? you pull the shop air off at glad hand (blue) , and the trailer stays applied? then pull off service line (control line) at relay vavle , then check if both air tanks are still full. especialy the supply side or emergency side. got to make sure both air tanks are full of air, might be a check vavle between tanks.disgusted
