Hey everybody

My old man in Australia has built himself a bus to tour in but is having problems with the engine as he has listed below. Any help or ideas that anybody has would be very welcome. Thanks everybody!

The motor in the bus is causing a lot of pain
Can't get it to rev out and maintain power
It will rev to about 2500 revs and that is it
It feels as though it is governed but it is susposed to run to about 4000
The motor also drops the turbo boost through a bypass valve
I have had it looked at and get different opinons but the bottom line is that I can't fix it
At the moment it has a max speed of 38mph/60kph and no power
I have been on to Detroit Diesel about it but the problem is that the motor was never ment to be imported into Australia. I got it new but second hand through a firm here and as a result I'm finding it hard to get help and information here.

The motor was built in Italy by VM Motori
model No vm638
everything is compurtised even the pedal
The computer has the number 638LH on it and was made by Bosch

I was hoping that you may be able to find out something over there as I seem to have run out of ideas at the moment.

Other details include...

The size of the motor is 4000 cc
The motor does not belong to my bus, it has been imported as and engine only and I don't know what vehicles they were put in.
The bus is about 8m long and about 30 years old (British Leyland)
The max revs is about 4000. Max power is achieved at 3600revs

That is about it
Thanks
