Need some help. I'm wanting to replace the 10 speed direct transmission with a better one. I'm wanting to achieve faster speed and better pulling at lower rpm. My current setup is 1998 Peterbilt 379, 3406E 475hp 1750 ft lbs at 1200RPM, 3.73 rears, tall rubber. I run out west of Albuquerque quite often and up to Salt Lake City. This 10 speed kills me on climbing a mountain. I'm trying to figure out what transmission would best suite my truck. 13sp, 15sp, 18sp, overdrive, double overdrive. I also want to turn it up from 475 to 550hp. What would be my best option?
