Last spring I had Cat mechanic check my 3116 engine for antifreeze leak. Engine was losing about a quart every 10 hours. He pulled injector and found AF in Cyl 6. He sucked out antifreeze. He applied 30# pressure to cooling system for 30 minutes and could not get any antifreeze into that cylinder. No water in the oil. He reinstalled injector, etc. Engine was restarted and ran all summer. No smoking at all. I asked about blown head gasket and he said not likely because of the great torque on the head bolts. Most likely cracked block, he said. Engine is sleeved. I know head must be pulled to know for sure. Any opinions?
