My know it all father in law was working my little 40 hp kubota today. He comes in the garage looking for anti_freeze. I get him the coolant and he says the engine is overheating I walk over to the tractor and realize it is still idling. I tell him to turn it off and he insists with his massive knowledge and experience that it is better to leave it idling. I say turn it off, what you are saying makes no sense turning off the engine will result in no further damage and he gives me the i know more than you you dumb young (im 42, and have worked on tractors my entire life) know nothing punk. and he says he's going to wash off the radiator. Im like "with the garden hose"! thats fucking retarded? The temp gage is at the tip top going off the red!

Will somebody please put the old timer in his place? Somebody that has the credentials to get him to eat his nonesense. He did eventually shut it off and didn't go get the garden hose but damn I don't get what the hell he is thinkin, and I am tired of being treated like a FN retard?. I was taught to respect elders and I learn new things every day, so it is quite difficult for me too reject his experience and I know i could never convince him of a damn thing but he's putting my property at rist and disrespecting me in the process. If he has a leg to stand on in this arguement then lets hear that. so is he off his rocker and going senile, or do I need to be humbled on this one?
