I have just bought a 2001 freightliner classic with c15 Cat motor after just hauling 5 loads the motor started excessive blow by an shut down. #5 piston main bearing seized, I am doing a in frame rebuild my question is: as far as the crankshaft being turned I cant afford a new crank at this time just wondering what the experiences were in turning crankshafts thank you in advance for your response.

I drought they will turn it. Got to hot. What you are doing is not a inframe. You have to pull the engine out and remove the front cove and bell housing. A good chance the block will need line bored. Your probable better off to find a used engine. Put rod and mains in it and put it in your truck.

Thank you for your reply, the bearing didn't spin Cat said they can repair the crank and block is ok. Motor was running fine just started tons of blowby we have it tore down now
