I work on a fleet of Deutz F4M1011s and one of them just popped the timing belt the other day. Normally, I've been changing them every 5000 hours as a precautionary measure. When I'd change it, I would be very careful to not move the sprockets while the belt was off, set the tension to what I thought felt right, and I've been lucky so far--they've all run great afterwards. This situation is different since I don't have the special tools and procedure to reset both crank and cam to TDC. I know some of the pushrods will be trashed and I'm prepared to deal with that. Anyone out there know where to get the special tool (hopefully not from the Fatherland) and know how to do this???

I would greatly appreciate any help provided!

I have exactly same problem... Just made the tools.. but need to be shure on the rest of the procedure...Stoped in the rebuiding of the engine due not knowing how to obtain correct timing of CAM and CS...... any help?? my email is carl_8181@hotmail.com if any images are aviable from shop manual.... also valve clearances . please..
