Can anyone advise me please.
I have a Hyundai Galloper tdi and last month the engine blewup, a mechanic fitted a Mitsubishi 4D56 second hand diesel engine and Mitsubshi diesel filter assembly,all runs very well apart from when then engine stands for about two to three hours it seems that the filter has no fuel in it and I have to crank the engine for about ten minutes before the engine will start.I thought that perhaps the fuel was being syphoned back to the tank so I fitted a non-return valve in the input line to the filter, but this did not solve the problem,I checked the return line from the punp to the tank but no fuel was coming out of it,I am stumped please has anyone any ideas? should the fuel filter assembly have anti-syphon valve fitted?
