600hp/ 2000tq program on an 05 s60 14L 455hp with a 13 speed
I'm gonna do lower bearings before getting this program, but I was wondering
what other precautions would be wise before applying more power....gaskets, seals, cac test...
I read grandpa say something bout watching your gauges with more power, which ones grandpa?
Thanks guys

Good pyro, boost gage and watch your water temp close until you see how things work. bigger turbo wouldn't hurt.

600 hp is really no big stretch for a 12.7, 14L simpler yet..water temp very important, exhaust temp more so..if you put a pressure gauge on both the exhaust and intake manifolds you can determine proper turbo size..you would like to see 10 lbs more pressure on intake side..borg warner 171702 works good on 10% program on 12.7..better luck with modified 177287 on 15% program..14L ddec 4 likes modifed 177287 better..still working with borg warner on turbos.its a long process, have tried 3 turbos in last 6 months.but have gained 75 HP to the ground and 1 mpg.never happy must keep trying...HP not a problem..but good combo of HP and MPG alot of work..good luck, hope this helped in some way...

Specs show it has a 5mm larger compressor wheel than the 171702, 80mm vs 75mm everything else is the same.

I tried an S480 on mine with 15% over and 825 injectors. At anything under 1400rpm, it would surge like crazy. We tried it on my dad's 12.7 with just a Bully Dog and it did the same thing.

last i knew injectors where rated in CCs per stroke..assuming you have 825 14L injectors and 15% added fuel ECM you are at about 260 CCs, stock about 160 CCs, marine cam add about another 5 to 10 percent fuel depending on which one..put it all together that thing should smoke like a bear..and be cooking all the time..

It smokes like a coal locomotive, and pulls just about as well. 825 cam and injectors. I can get the injector # if you want to know which ones they are. I found a few core 14L engines around home that I would like to swap parts over to.

did you guys see any of this surging on the 12.7 15% i am considering changing. given the fact that the s475 and s480 both share the same turbine wheel i would assume spool would be nearly the same but yet the compressor would push better/cooler air at high boost.

have you guys looked into the bep (bulls eye performance) turbo's they can take that s480 and put a "race cover" on the compressor and a billet compressor wheel smile bep basically takes an already good borg turbo and makes it better

'I listed a surplus Watermota diesel on DieselEngineTrader. It took a few months to sell, but I was delighted as the engine was quite obscure and I never thought anyone would buy it!'

John MacTaggart Dalintober Boats UK

'Had a Toyota motor for sale in our city paper for 2 years without success, but on DieselEngineTrader.com I got a quick response and it was sold.. Thanks for your help. I'll use it again.'

Glenn Poidinger, Merik Workshops, Canada

'We've sold 7 engines in 4 months through DieselEngineTrader.com - one to Utah, three to South Dakota, one to New York, one to Kansas and one locally in Wisconsin! I also advertise in other publications but DieselEngineTrader.com gets the best results and at a great price too! I like the way that my engines are shown at the top of Google searches and DieselEngineTrader.com will definitely be playing a major part in my advertising from now on.'
